Department of Foreign Languages was founded in 2015, the Department of Foreign Languages offers education in English, German and Russian languages at different levels to all our students in our university and effectively carries out the English Preparatory Program with our students enrolled in departments whose language of instruction is English. Our students are placed in a class in accordance with the Common Framework of European Languages Program (CEFR) according to the score they receive as a result of the English Level Determination Exam held by our School at the beginning of each academic year. In addition to teaching grammar and vocabulary, they graduate from the Preparatory Program by completing the B2 course with courses that improve their writing, reading, listening and speaking skills, which are the basics four language skills. In addition to the English Preparatory Program, our department carries out basic-intermediate foreign language teaching to all faculty and college students within our university with English, German and Russian courses offered as Common Compulsory Courses. Vocational English, Russian and German Language Courses, which are given to our students at different language levels especially in the field of Business and Tourism, provide the opportunity to develop academic language skills according to the language needs in the professional field starting from the basic level. The head of the Department of Foreign Languages follows the workflow of the offices performing tasks such as effective conduct of preparatory and common compulsory courses, preparation of curriculum and weekly programs, selection of materials to be used in the courses and preparation of additional materials, successful implementation of short exams, midterm and final exams, statistical analysis of exam results, student success follow-up. At the same time, it plans in-service trainings for the professional development of the faculty members of the School of Foreign Languages and the contemporary education understanding and practices that are advancing day by day. At the end of these trainings, it evaluates the process and provides effective in-service trainings based on need, as well as checking the necessary information and announcement contents from the offical website where all information about the School is presented.
